Decatur-Randy Bell, 58 of Decatur, passed away 8:52 am Monday, February 15, 2010 at his residence.
A memorial gathering to celebrate Randy's life will be from 6 ' 8:00 pm Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. As per Randy's wishes cremation rites will be accorded and interment will be private in Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield. Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home is assisting his family with these arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the wishes of the family. Randy was born on May 7, 1951 in Decatur the son of Orlando and Barbara (Gessaman) Bell. Randy proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. Randy was employed for several years as a roofer and was a member of the Roofer's Union Local 92.
Randy is survived by four brothers; Richard (wife ' Julie) Bell of Decatur, Kevin (wife ' Lori) Bell of Decatur, Doug Bell of Lincoln and David Bell of Decatur, one sister Cindy Bell of Decatur; several nieces and nephews; and a very special friend Gloria and her children and grandchildren whom he loved as his own; two step-brothers Terry Lanter of Decatur and Wallace Lanter, Jr.; and a step-sister Kathy (husband ' Roger) Rybolt of Argenta.
Randy was preceded in death by his parents; his loving stepmothers Ruth and Leah; and his step-brother Roger.
