Randy E. Morris' Obituary
Randy E. Morris, 59, of Decatur, passed away Friday, February 16, 2018 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.
Randy was born September 14, 1958, in Decatur, Illinois, the son of Dallas and Phyllis (Thompson) Morris. He proudly served his country in the Army National Guard in Subic Bay, Philippines. Randy graduated from Sangamon State University (UIS) with BS in Political Science. He was previously employed as the Township Administrator, City Council, US Congressional Committee on Merchant Marines, and was a patent researcher. Randy attended Trinity Church of the Nazarene and volunteered at Hopeful Heart Ministries.
Randy is survived by his sisters Gladys (Stephen) Bublitz, and Sandy Morris both of Decatur, nephews Sean (Jill) Bublitz of Indiana and Chris Phelps of Decatur, niece Stephanie Bublitz of Decatur, great-nephews Ean, Ty, and Theo Bublitz, and Jacobe Phelps, great-nieces Lilia and Zoe Bublitz, Elaina Bublitz, Alexandria (Michael) Standridge, and Ashlyn Phelps, and special cousin Jill Sunderland.
Randy was preceded in death by his parents, niece Kelly Phelps, and great-great-nephew Xander Standridge.
Private services will be held at a later date. Memorials are suggested to Hopeful Hearts Ministries, P.O. Box 3591 Decatur, IL 62524 or the wishes of family in care of Gladys Bublitz.
