Raymond W. McCarty's Obituary
Raymond William McCarty, 63, of Decatur, passed away Saturday, December 28, 2019, at Decatur Memorial Hospital, surrounded by his living family.
Raymond was born October 9, 1956, in Decatur, IL to Charles William and Sallie Ann (Britton) McCarty. He loved racing and was a longtime fixture of Macon Speedway. He was also a member of ABATE.
He is survived by his brother, David (Norma Tyus) McCarty; his sister, Carol Ann Merrow; several nieces and nephews, Joshua (Michelle) Palmore, David (Violet Tucker) McCarty, April “Dawn” Terrell, Billy Terrell, Robin Terrell, Rachel Terrell, John Terrell, Sandy McCarty.
The family would like to give special thanks to Violet Jean Tucker, Norma Tyus, Lisa Newbern, Haily (Angel Embry), Kayla Mize and Steve Skinner. The 4th floor staff and security staff at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, April Gay Terrell.
Graveside services to celebrate the life of Raymond McCarty will be 1 p.m. Monday, January 6, 2019, at Jacob Cemetery in Moweaqua, IL. Memorials may be directed to the family.
