Reda Pauline Jones' Obituary
Decatur – Reda Pauline Jones, 88, of Decatur, passed away at 12:55 am Saturday, February 21, 2009 at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Graveside services to celebrate Reda’s life will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, February 23, 2009 at Graceland Cemetery with Pastor Russell Weise officiating. Memorial contributions may be sent to St. John’s Lutheran Church.
Reda was born July 4, 1920 in Decatur, the daughter of Glenn and Nellie (McKee) Lippincott. She married Alonzo E. Jones on July 29, 1938 in St. Louis, Missouri. He preceded her in death on June 29, 1969. Reda loved her grand and great-grandchildren and loved to work in the flowers and yard. She enjoyed feeding the birds. She retired from Borg-Warner. Reda also was employed by McGraw Edison in Warrensburg, Taylor Pharmacal, Decatur Signal Depot, Grigolet Company, and Houdaille Hershey – worked on secret material and found out it was the “A” Bomb. She was a life-long member of St. John’s Lutheran Church.
She will be sadly missed by her daughter: Ellen (David) Miller of Mt. Zion, grandchildren: Bob (Sally) Jones of Arizona, Jeff (Teresa) Walker of Texas, Kevin Walker of New Mexico, Ken (Myra) Jones of Ohio, Tim (Lisa) Jones of Arizona, Scott Jones of Ohio, Shelly (Gary) Kellums of Illinois, Cindy Jones, and Karla Miller, nineteen great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren.
She was reunited in heaven with her two sons: John G. Jones and Donald C. Jones, one daughter: Linda L. Jones, and one grandson: Rodney Miller.
