Richard L. Baum's Obituary
Decatur-Richard L. Baum, 71, of Decatur, passed away, Monday, November 12, 2012 in his home with his family by his side.
Per Richard's wishes cremation services will be provided by Graceland/Fairlawn Crematory. No services are planned at this time. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to DMH Hospice, 2300 N. Edward St. Decatur, IL 62526 or the Crohn's Disease Foundation, P.O. Box 1245, Albert Lea, MN 56007-9976.
Richard was born April 3, 1941 in Decatur, the son of Wilbur and Mattie (White) Baum. He was previously employed with skilled trades at Caterpillar. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, and going to his grandchildren's ballgames and motocross. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinal and Illini Basketball fan. He married Judith Lamb July 28, 1962 in Decatur.
He leaves behind his wife Judy, sons Richard Baum and Craig (Tracy) Baum all of Decatur, daughter Chris (Danny) Hoult of Decatur, sisters Dora (Jim) Sandage of Macon, Barbara See of Hillsboro, and Dottie Ann (Ron) Copsy of Long Creek, and grandchildren Whitney Potter, Colin Baum, Kyle Baum, Dillan Baum, and Owen Baum.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Rachel and Allison with the infusion center at Cancer Care Specialists and to all of the nurses with DMH Hospice.
