Richard A. "Dick" Johnson's Obituary
Decatur-Richard A. “Dick” Johnson, 76, of Decatur, passed away Saturday, September 21, 2013 at Evergreen Assisted Living Center in Decatur, IL.
He was born August 11, 1937 in Hord, Illinois, the son of Richard and Louise (Moore) Johnson. He was previously employed as a Drywall Contractor. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and NASCAR especially Jeff Gordon.
He leaves behind his special friend Sherry Garner, sons Curtis (Amanda) Johnson of Mt. Zion, IL; Mark (Kasandra) Johnson of Charleston, IL; Brett (Jan) Johnson of Watson, IL; and Darren (Cheryl) Johnson of Watson, IL; daughter Debbie (Stan) Alwardt of Edgewood, IL; brothers Bennie (Kay) Johnson, Troy (Jamie) Johnson, and Joe (Gina) Johnson, thirteen grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Tom and Ronnie Johnson, and sister Retta Thompson.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the nurses and staff at Evergreen Assisted Living Center in Decatur, for all of their compassionate care.
Graveside services to celebrate Dick’s life will be in Old Union Cemetery in Bible Grove, Illinois at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the activity fund at Evergreen Assisted Living Center in Decatur, IL.
