Richard Dale Ferre's Obituary
Forsyth-Richard Dale Ferre, 82, of Forsyth, passed away 7:15 p.m. Friday, October 8, 2010 at his home with his beloved wife by his side.
Mass of the Resurrection to celebrate Richard's life will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at St. James Catholic Church, 742 E. Clay, with Father Jeff Grant celebrant. Entombment with the 'Flight Home' Ceremony will be in the Pieta Garden Mausoleum at Graceland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Parish of Ss. James and Patrick or the American Heart Association. Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home is assisting the family with these arrangements. Richard was born April 21, 1928 in Decatur, the son of Raymond Lee and Bessie (Rockwell) Ferre. He proudly served his country in the USMC during the Korean War. He received his bachelors degree from Millikin University. He served as the Macon County Auditor retiring after twenty-four years of service. He was a member of Ss. James and Patrick Catholic Church and Lions Club. He was an avid woodworker and coin collector. He married Rita Wagner July 16, 1951.
He leaves behind Rita, his beloved wife of over fifty-nine years, children; David James Ferre and wife Esther of Dallas, Texas, Jeanane Marie Ferre of Oak Park, and Alyce Joanne Faleni and husband Brian of Lake Zurich, brothers; Charles F. Ferre of Tucson, Arizona, and Dr. Raymond L. Ferre and wife Lavohn of Decatur, sisters; Judith Ferre and Nancy O'Grady and husband James all of Hitchcock, Texas, grandchildren; Trevor James Ferre of Dallas, Texas, Kristin Michelle Faleni and Matthew Aaron Faleni both of Lake Zurich, and Hanna Magdalena Grannis of Oak Park.
He was greeted in Heaven by his parents, brother Gerald Ferre, and sister Alice Williams.
