Richard Dean Johnson's Obituary
Richard Johnson I ,74, of Decatur Il passed away on June 23,2024 at his home surrounded by loving family. He was born on July 1,1949 in Decatur Il to Arthur and Pauline Johnson.
Richard played pool in a league for many years. He was a proud Marine during the Vietnam war. He was a taxi driver for Decatur Pride Taxi for many years. Richard was a house painter and painted quite a few houses for some very prominent people during his career. He was a family man and loved to spend time with his children and especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He spent a lot of time watching old westerns and hanging out with friends at the bar.
Richard is survived by his sons, Richard Johnson II, Steve (Leanna) Johnson and Mickey Johnson; daughters, Debra (Robert Chapman) Bilbrey and Jennifer Johnson; sister, Paula (Tim) Bradley; 30 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren as well as numerous extended family and friends.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, David Johnson and Louie Whitehead.
A visitation for Richard will be held at Graceland Fairlawn Funeral home on July 8,2024 from 11-1pm with a funeral service to follow at 1pm. Burial will take place at a later date.
