Richard Morehead's Obituary
Richard Eugene Morehead, 63, of Decatur, IL, passed away at 9:53 P.M. on Monday (04-03-2023) at his home.
Richard was born on July 11, 1959, in Taylorville, IL, the son of Billy Dean Morehead and Rozetta Mae (Brown) Morehead. He married Joyce Rae Johnson in July of 2015 in Hawaii. She survives him.
Richard worked as a coal miner, on the railroad, and as a welder for Caterpillar. He enjoyed fishing and camping and was looking forward to doing that later this year.
He is survived by his love Joyce Morehead of Decatur, IL, father: Billy Dean Morehead of Taylorville, IL, one son: Nicholas Morehead of Decatur, IL, two stepsons: Jason Rempe of Wapella, IL, and Carl Rempe of Lincoln, IL; stepdaughter: Loretta Rempe of Lincoln, IL, one brother: Larry Morehead of Decatur, IL, nephew: Brian Morehead of Mt. Zion, IL, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Richard is preceded in death by his mother and nephew Jason D. Morehead.
