Richard Wayne Morlan Sr's Obituary
Richard Wayne Morlan Sr, 66, of Decatur, IL passed away November 30, 2020 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL.
Richard was born October 26, 1954 in Decatur, IL, the son of Robert and Marjorie (Bauer) Morlan. He married Janet Sue White on August 7, 2004 in Decatur, IL.
Richard worked as a sheet metal worker with Sheet Metal Workers Union. He also was a custodian for the Decatur Public Schools. Following his retirement, he founded and ministered the congregation of Christian Baptist Church.
Richard loved preaching the gospel and reading the Bible. He also loved fishing and camping and plowing snow with his truck. He will forever be remembered as the person who would give a hard candy to anyone he met.
Surviving are his wife, Janet; children, Richard Morlan, Jr (Jerri) of Albuquerque, NM, Lori Morlan of Decatur, IL, Ryan Morlan (Kristi) of Dalton City, IL; siblings, Robert Morlan (Brenda) of Decatur, IL, Cheryl Lane of Decatur, IL, P. Kay Nuernberger (Jim) of Decatur, IL, Jenny Beckett (Duane) of Sullivan, Beverly Gensler (Tom) of Decatur, IL, Tammy Polley (David) of Decatur, IL; grandchildren, Kylar, Austin, Jordan, Alyssa, Ava, Maggie, Max, Olivia, Aliyah and great grandchildren, Jaylen and Tsavarek.
Preceding in death are is parents, daughter, Mandi Morlan, brother, Roger, brothers-in-law, David Lane and Jim Lane.
Private services will be held at Calvary Baptist Church.
Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery.
