Richard L. Renfro's Obituary
LOVINGTON- Richard L. Renfro, 71 of Lovington, passed away at 5:31 PM Thursday, July 13, 2017 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Decatur.
Richard was born on June 7, 1946 in Dayton, OH the son of Virgil and Mildred (Turner) Renfro. Richard served his country in the Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a transportation superintendent for the Blue Mound Bus Services for many years. He was a member of the Lovington Church of God, served on the Blue Mound Fire Protection District. He was also a member of the Sullivan VFW and American Legion Post 105 in Decatur. Richard enjoyed fishing, camping and he loved to travel. Richard married Linda S. Collins on July 27, 1974 in Shawnee Town, IL.
Surviving are his wife Linda of Lovington, daughter- Lynette Young and her significant other Wayne Hoxie of Menifee, CA, grandchildren- Lexie, David and London, brother-in-law- Lawrence (Violet) Collins, two uncles, numerous cousins, special nieces and nephews- Larry (Terri) Collins and Lisa (Kevin) Schollenbruch, special friends of over 30 years- Paul and Mary Ann Nartker and Bub and Mary Hadden; special friends- Gary and Ginny Stevenson and many other close friends.
Richard was greeted in Heaven by his parents and numerous aunts and uncles.
Celebration of Life Services will be held at 10 am Saturday, July 22, 2017 at the Lovington First Church of God, conducted by Pastor Rodney Houser. Memorials are suggested to the Lovington First Church of God.
The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Steven Sobel for his special care and concern of Richard.
