Richard D. Shepard's Obituary
Decatur-Richard D. Shepard, 72, of Decatur, passed away at 3:59 a.m. Friday, September 09, 2011 at Decatur Memorial Hospital with his family by his side.
Richard was born on April 3, 1939 in Decatur the son of Harley and Sena Shepard. He was a retired maintenance worker from Firestone. He married Sharon Hood in 1958 at Decatur she preceded him in death on May 25, 2004.
He is survived by his, sons, Richard Shepard (Carol) of Macon, GA; Rodney Shepard of O'Fallon, MO; Terry Shepard of Decatur; daughters, Lynette High and Ronda Vest (Steve) both of Decatur; sister, Mary of Colorado; nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his, parents, wife, three brothers, and three sisters.
Funeral service celebrating Richard's life will be 2:00 pm Tuesday in Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home Visitation will be one hour prior to service in the funeral home. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery and conclude with the 'Flight Home' ceremony. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
