Richard L. Stuart's Obituary
Decatur-Richard L. Stuart, 61, of Decatur, passed away Monday, September 1, 2014 at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Rick was born February 22, 1953 in Decatur, the son of Howard and Dorothy (Bork) Stuart. He worked at A.E. Staley for twenty years. He later worked as a bartender at Jimmy’s Tavern. During his years at Lakeview High School, he played on several baseball and basketball teams. While at Staleys, Rick played with the Staley Superstars. The team won three state championships 1976, 1977, and 1979 with Rick making several all tournament teams at first base. He was an avid die hard Yankee fan.
He leaves behind his son Travis Rauschek and wife Kelly of Decatur, daughter Erica Miller of Decatur, granddaughter Lydia Rauschek of Decatur, brother David Stuart and wife Linda of Decatur, sister Carol Osborne of Deer Creek, and step-brothers Ralph Clark and Lyle Clark and wife Elaine.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial visitation to celebrate Rick’s life will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday, September 5, 2014 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Memorials may be directed to a charity of the donor’s choice.
