My family and I got to know Ritchie by our frequent trips to Rock Springs Nature Center. My seven and three year olds reaped the benefits of his knowledge of nature. Any time we revisit the process of making maple syrup, we ask ourselves about what Ritchie told us. We will miss him and think about him every time we go to our favorite place.
Good man! No longer bound to Earth. Began his journey too early, but Happy Trails, Richie.
Richie worked with the Master Gardeners for several years on several projects, including Monarch Madness for the last 5 years. He was a delight to work with, made things so easy for us and was so very knowledgable. We will miss him, and are grateful that we got to know him. Our deepest sympathy to the family.
Jan Sickbert, Master Gardener
We were so very sorry and shocked to learn of Richie's untimely death. We knew him through our visits to Rock Springs Nature Center and our involvement with Decatur Audubon Society. Richie will certainly be missed by many. Our thoughts and prayers are with his entire family for comfort and peace.
Running into Richie at a EEAI event was always a pleasure. He made a point of acknowledging everyone he knew.
So sorry to hear that Richie had passed. He was a great birder who will be missed.

We only knew him for a short amount of time and found him to be a very good person. We had the pleasure of enjoying his company several times. At the city museum he engaged in some fun and silliness in the spools and his love for Ohio and ours for Michigan always made for fun rivalry conversations. Our deepest sympathies for the family . Sincerely Ana & Paul Walker
Good boss, and we will miss him.
