Decatur-Rick Lee Clemens, 52, of Decatur, passed away at 5:45 p.m. Friday, December 9, 2011 at his home with his family by his side.
Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Rick's life will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at St. James Catholic Church, 742 E. Clay St. Decatur, with Father John Burnette, celebrant. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday, December 12, 2011 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home with a vigil prayer service at 5:40 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Decatur Animal Shelter or Ss James & Patrick Parish.
Rick was born May 26, 1959 in Decatur, the son of Richard and Janet (Morenz) Clemens. He graduated from Lakeview High School. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Pensacola, Florida, Ss James & Patrick Parish, and Lincolnland AMBUCS. He was an avid Chicago Bears and St. Louis Cardinals fan and enjoyed golfing.
He leaves behind his mother; Janet Clemens of Decatur, fiancée; Patti Dobbins of Decatur, son; Ryan Clemens and wife Nikki of Decatur, daughter; Brandi Clemens of Decatur, grandchildren; Ava, Brady, Abram, Matthew, and Kaylee, brother; Tom Clemens of Decatur, sister; Lisa Bowman and husband Derek of Decatur, four nephews, and one niece.
He was reunited in Heaven with his father; Richard and brother; Paul.
