Robert E. Bennett's Obituary
Robert E. Bennett, 85, of Decatur passed away on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 in Heritage Health.
Robert was born on July 7, 1928 in Blue Mound, IL. He was a member of West Side Church of the Nazarene where he served as on the church board, Sunday School Teacher and Sunday School Superintendent. He was a carpenter and a self employed contractor. He enjoyed gardening when he was able.
Surviving are his wife, Ethelyne; daughters, Susan Klein (Greg) of Des Moines, IA; Penny LaFon (Steve) of Raleigh, NC; Lisa Logan (Reaves) of Winston-Salem, NC; step-sons, Kevin Mitchell (Deb) of Decatur; Steve Mitchell of Decatur; grandchildren, Erin Lafon; Matthew Lafon (Elizabeth); Kristopher Klein (Amy); Bennett Logan; step-grandchildren, Matthew, Colton, Dylan, and Sydney; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and first wife Maxine.
Celebration of life service will be 11 AM Saturday, January 5, 2013 in West Side Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Steve Cecil officiating. Visitation will be 10-11 AM Saturday in the church. Burial will be in Hall Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to West Side Church of the Nazarene.
