Robert Allen Boyce's Obituary
Forsyth- Robert Allen Boyce, 95, of Forsyth, passed away at 4:20 pm Monday, April 20, 2009 at his residence.
Memorial services to celebrate Robert’s life will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at the Star of Hope Mausoleum at Graceland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the American Cancer Society, DMH Hospice, or St. Jude’s Children Hospital. Robert was born November 26, 1913 in Sandwich, Illinois, the son of Charles R. and Lillian Boyce. He married Mabel Erma Pettyjohn on April 17, 1937 in Decatur. She preceded him in death on May 16, 1997. Robert worked at C.C. Camp, helping build bridges for New Salem Park. He also worked for Caterpillar when they first came to town.
Robert worked as a Iron Pourer at C.B.Q. for twenty-three years, worked at Wagners the last five years before retiring at the age of 70.
He leaves behind his one daughter: Marilyn (Marvin) Roberts of Decatur, three grandsons: Mark (Jackie) Roberts, Brian (Debbie) Roberts, and Eric (Dagmar) Roberts, three great-granddaughters: Amanda, Kayla, Veronica.
He was reunited in heaven with his wife: Mabel, parents, and one daughter: Beverly Ann Boyce.
The family would especially like to thank Jan, Gail, Angela, Leslie for the care and compassion they showed Dad during his illness.
