Robert Walter Davis II's Obituary
Robert “Robbie” “Bob” Davis II ,73, passed away peacefully in his home on June 7, 2022.
Bob was born on December 28, 1948 in Chicago, IL.
Mourning his passing are his wife, Bernadine Bartus Davis; daughter, Brandie (Oscar) Davis Martinez. Granddaughters: Fallon Barry and Erin Barry; sister, Deborah (Will) Jones of Cathedral City, CA; brother, Randy (Jorgen) Apel of Indian Wells, CA; brother, John (Jo Ellen) Bennett of Bloomington, IL, and special aunt, Gloria Mowry, as well as many extended family and friends.
Bob attended Eisenhower High School and joined the U.S. Air Force where he was stationed in Las Vegas, NV. After serving his country he returned home to Decatur, IL, where he received his A.A. degree in hospitality Management.
Bob, a true “Foodie”, was known for his culinary creations. Ethnic cuisines were his specialty along with ribs and BBQ no one could copy. He and his trusty sidekick/wife taught numerous cooking classes at Mari-Mann Herb Company. His travels were always food related: Vienna, Austria, New Orleans, Chicago, St. Louis and San Diego were among his favorite culinary stops. He and his cooking will be missed by his family and friends.
A visitation to celebrate Bob's life will be held at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home, 2091 N. Oakland Ave. Decatur, IL 62526, on Saturday, June 25, 2022, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Visitation will conclude with military rites provided by the Macon County Honor Guard.
