FORCE
DECATUR- Robert D. “Bob” Force, 64 of Decatur, passed away peacefully at 8:44 pm Monday, April 20, 2009 in his home with his family at his side after a courageous battle with colon cancer.
Bob requested that a Celebration of his Life and Gathering be held at Jerry’s East End in Lovington from 4 to 8 pm on Friday, April 24, 2009 for his family and friends to share memories. Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements. Memorial contributions can be made to Sparrows Unlimited, 120 East State Street, P.O. Box 507, Lovington, IL. 61937. Bob was born on April 22, 1944 in Decatur a son of Harold and Mary (Manion) Force. Bob graduated from Moweaqua High School in 1962. He proudly served his country in the Army. Bob was retired from Laborers Local 159 and he was an active member of the American Legion Post #105 in Lovington.
Surviving are sons- Brandon Force (Theresa Lappin) of Decatur, Shayne Force and his wife Shona of Decatur, step-son- Rob Williams of Decatur, daughter Tonya (Meyers) Smith of South Carolina, brothers- Evans Force of Macon, Harold Force, Jr. of Telluride, CO., sisters- Barbara Tippit and husband Chuck of Decatur and Debora K. Ragan and husband Billy of Elwin, and fourteen grandchildren.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, sister- Donna Coventry and his loyal companion Princess.
The family would like to give special thanks to Bob’s friends and caregivers: Theresa Lappin, Shirley Lohmar, Danny Murphy, Jessica Mercer and Bill Henson who truly helped make him as comfortable as possible during his illness. We can never thank you all enough.
