Robert S. Jacobs' Obituary
DECATUR- Robert S. Jacobs 95 of Tomball TX, formerly of Decatur, passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2011.
Services to celebrate Robert's life will be held at 2 pm Wednesday, March 9, 2011 in the Chapel of Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Interment with the 'Flight Home' Ceremony will be in Graceland Cemetery. Robert was born on December 2, 1915 in Robertson County, KY. a son of Finley and Mae (Hieatt) Jacobs. He was a truck driver and later worked as a boiler engineer for the hospital. Robert had been a member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church while he lived in Decatur. Robert married Ruth Eileen Trimmer on May 14, 1938 in Indianapolis, IN. and they celebrated over 64 years together before she passed away on August 12, 2002.
Surviving are his children- Ruth Darlene Whitacre and her husband Wayne of Nashville, TN., Robert R. Jacobs of Tomball, TX and Patricia Kay Chait of Taylor, TX, four grandchildren- Kristin Chait, Michelle Chait, Amy Chait and Jesi Whitacre and ten nieces and nephews from Ohio, Kentucky and Alabama.
Robert was greeted in Heaven by his parents; wife; two brothers: Herbert Jacobs and Finley Jacobs, Jr. and one sister, Cora Mae Maloney.
