Robert "Bob" L. Luechtefeld's Obituary
Robert “Bob” L. Luechtefeld, 62, of Decatur, passed away Thursday, July 3, 2014 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Bob was born January 5, 1952 in Decatur, IL, the son of Lawrence and Dorothy (Sanderson) Luechtefeld. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was employed at Caterpillar. Bob loved to play the lottery, do crossword puzzles, and had a strong interest in classic cars. Bob married Margaret Beck on August 10, 2002 in Decatur, IL.
Bob leaves behind his wife, Margaret; sons, Chad (fiancée Amanda) Luechtefeld of Bluffton, SC; Bradley Luechtefeld of Decatur; Brian Pasisinic of Decatur; daughter Kim (Paul) Wright of Decatur; brother, Jesse Luechtefeld; sisters, Linda Houser; Kathy (Brad) Flesner; Sheila Lowery; Pam Luechtefeld; nephew, Lorenzo “Nino” (Laura and daughter Isabella) Luechtefeld; grandchildren, Chad Luechtefeld Jr.; Alysa Luechtefeld; Caleb Pasisinic; and Gauge Pasisinic.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Dorothy Luechtefeld; brothers, Terry Luechtefeld; Larry Luechtefeld; Jeffrey Luechtefeld; special brother-in-laws, Bill Lowery; Harley Houser; and special cousin, Jack Johnson.
A memorial service to celebrate Bob’s life will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at the Star of Hope in Graceland Cemetery.
The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Wade and Leann Rhinehart who took such great care of Bob. They will also like to give special thanks to the nurses at DMH Cancer Care Center and Hospice.
Bob was a devoted loving father, husband, brother, grandfather, uncle, and a dear friend to all that knew him. He loved his family. He was a kind, generous, caring and a humble man. He will be deeply missed.
