Robert Dean McIntyre's Obituary
Robert Dean McIntyre, 86, of Decatur, IL, passed away at 8:02 A.M. Sunday (12-28-2025) at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Robert was born on May 28, 1939, in Decatur, IL, the son of William Frederick McIntyre and Ethel Pauline (Walker) McIntyre. He married Elda Daraleen McRoberts on July 17, 1964. She passed away on March 24, 2019.
Robert served his country in the United States Army during Vietnam. He worked at Mueller Company for 33 years from May 19, 1964, until his retirement on June 30, 1997. He enjoyed gardening and yard work, tinkering around the garage, listening to his radio, and he had a great sense of humor.
He is survived by his daughter Jackie Habing of Effingham, IL; two grandchildren Stacey and Jennifer Clifton; five great grandchildren, Brody Darkow of Effingham, IL; McKenzie Darkow of Effingham, IL; Alex Miller of Macon, IL; Dustin Miller of Macon, IL; and Abigail Miller of Macon, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, four brothers, Bill, Richard, Larry and Charles and one sister Betty Lou.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday (01/05/2026) at Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home with a visitation one hour prior to the service. The graveside will follow the funeral at Graceland Cemetery.
