Robert Wayne Shriver's Obituary
Decatur-Robert Wayne Shriver, 71, of Decatur passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2013 in Symphony of Decatur.
He was born April 30, 1942, in Decatur, the son of Paul and Esther (Rade) Shriver. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. He was previously employed with Caterpillar retiring in 2006 after thirty-two years of service. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and enjoyed country dancing. He married Shirley (Rubin) Fairbanks November 28, 2000.
He leaves behind his wife Shirley, daughters Lisa Miller and Tracy Reatherford, step-son Dennis Koehler, step-daughter Sandra Wycoff, sisters Georgia Petty and Andra Bramlet, and five step-grandchildren.
He was reunited in Heaven with his parents, a brother David, a sister Norma Jean, granddaughter Dana, and grandson Tommy.
Services to celebrate Robert's life will be 1p.m. Monday, July 8, 2013 at St. John's Lutheran Church, 2727 N. Union Blvd, Decatur. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Sunday, July 7, 2013 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Burial with military honors will be in Mt. Pulaski Cemetery, Mt. Pulaski. Memorials may be directed to a charity of the donor's choice.
