Robert James Tille's Obituary
Robert (Bob) (BO) James Tille, Formerly of Oreana, passed away at his home in Boody on the afternoon of March 21, 2013. Robert was born on September 27, 1928 to Herman Carl and Grace Alice Cummings Tille. Robert married Lorraine Rose Heveran on November 24, 1949 and together they have three children. Robert is survived by his wife of 63 years Lorraine, 3 children Deborah K. Smith of Jacksonville, Robert James Tille II (wife Nancy Wickle) of Poulsbo, WA and Randall Jay Tille of Decatur, two grandchildren Cara A. Smith (fiancé Josh Dillabough) of Mendota and Tatiana J. Tille of Pouslbo, WA, sister Linda (husband Pat) Kay McNight of Santee, CA and several nieces and nephews. Preceding “Bo” in death were his parents and wife’s parents Joseph Errand Heveran Sr. and Lydia Rebecca Meyer Heveran. Also preceding in death were brother Charles H. Tille, brother in law Joseph E. Heveran, sister in law Geraldine G. Gamache and granddaughter Brittania R. Tille. He was a beloved husband, father, brother, Grandfather and uncle.
Robert served in the U.S. Navy during WWII in the South Pacific Arena. Robert was employed with Caterpillar as a mechanic until he retired. After he retired he worked as a parking attendant at First National Bank in Decatur. He was a giving community member helping as a Boy Scout Leader, Little People of America host and Oreana library volunteer. Bob could always be counted on to fix many neighbors and friends cars. He loved sports – winning a Lake Decatur swim race as a boy, lifeguarding, and camping. He was a passionate fisherman who enjoyed spending time with family and friends on the lake.
The family would like to thank the staff of Harbor Light Hospice and care givers for their love, care and compassion. Donations may be directed to the Little People of America and Harbor Light Hospice.
Military Rites with the Macon County Honor Guard will take place on Saturday 11am May 4, 2013 in Zion Cemetery in Boody.
