Robert Orville Zerfowski's Obituary
Decatur-Robert Orville Zerfowski, 90, of Decatur, passed away Monday, November 11, 2013, in St. Mary’s Hospital.
Robert was born July 20, 1923 in Decatur, the son of Emil Herman and Anna Marie (Sheffler) Zerfowski. He was previously employed with the Wabash Railroad and with Borg Warner. He enjoyed gardening, yard work, and raising pigeons. When he was younger, Robert enjoyed bowling and belonged to several leagues. He transferred his love of bowling to the game system, and his Wii bowling team will miss him a great deal. He married Rose Marie Brady July 17, 1943 in Decatur. She preceded him in death May 2, 2012.
He leaves behind his sons Richard (Sue) Zerfowski of Mt. Zion, Joseph Zerfowski of Decatur, Randy Zerfowski of Lynn Haven, Florida, and James Zerfowski of Decatur, brothers Floyd Zerfowski of Decatur and Richard Larry Zerfowski of Macon, sister Doris Reick of Roanoke, Virginia, grandchildren Tammy Reimer, Jodi Whalen, Lindsey Zerfowski, Robert Zerfowski, and Ava Zerfowski, and great-grandchildren Cody Reimer and Nate Whalen.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brother Raymond Zerfowski, sister Mildred Meixner, and son Robert Zerfowski.
Private family services will be held. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
