Decatur-Roberta J. Horath, 60, of Decatur, passed away at 6:03 p.m. Sunday, July 5, 2009 in the emergency room at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Services to celebrate Roberta’s life will be 11 a.m. Friday, July 10, 2009 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home with Pastor Don Horath officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Interment with Flight Home Ceremony will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or Homeward Bound Animal Shelter. Online condolences and memories may be shared with the family at www.gracelandfairlawn.com.
Roberta was born January 8, 1949 in Decatur the daughter of Harry and Elizabeth (Heer) Waite. She was the owner/operator of DSI. She enjoyed gardening, reading, animals, especially her cats, and visiting with people. Her grandchildren were the light of her life. She married James Horath, Sr. November 3, 1966 in Decatur.
She leaves behind James, her beloved husband of over forty-two years, sons; James Horath, Jr. and Joseph Horath both of Decatur, daughter; Christine Patch of Blue Mound, brothers; William Waite and wife Janet of Decatur and Ronald Waite and wife Clara of Decatur, sisters; Mary Ann Davidson of Colorado Springs, CO and Elizabeth Burns and husband Gerald of Elmmott, TX, and grandchildren; Zachary Horath and Katie Patch.
She was reunited in heaven with her parents and one brother.
