Rodney Dale Boline's Obituary
Maroa-Rodney Dale Boline, 71, of Maroa formerly of Cerro Gordo, passed away peacefully Sunday, November 23, 2014 at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Rodney was born March 6, 1943 in Cerro Gordo, Illinois, the son of Jaqueline Bell. He graduated from Cerro Gordo High School in 1961. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1962-1965. He married Georgia A. Roady in 1966. Rodney began working for Caterpillar in 1965 as an assembler and worked there for over thirty-five years. His children remember him as a supportive father who encouraged them to pursue their goals and to strive to be the best they could be.
Rodney was a generous and dedicated individual who loved sports and his faith in God and who was passionate about every person he came in contact with. He was an active and dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Decatur and often volunteered for most anything he could. He was an active member of the Lions Club and the Cerro Gordo American Legion.
Rodney leaves behind his daughters Gina A. (Bryan) Kingery of Decatur and Rochelle D. Boline of Decatur, sons Robert D. (Melissa Faust) Boline of Maroa and Richard A. (Deanna Point) Boline of Decatur, brothers Jonathan (Joyce) Bell of Sullivan and Dale (Ruthie) Bell of Biloxi, Mississippi, grandchildren Kameron, Devin, and Drew Boline, Dalton Point, and Shelby and Brandi Blankenship, great-grandchild Breanna Blankenship, step-grandsons Larry Wayne and Anthony Blankenship, step-great-grandchildren Wyatt, Whitley, Wade, Dalton, and Dylan Blankenship, and many nieces and nephews.
Rodney was reunited in Heaven with his mother, step-father Wayne Bell, step-brother William Bell, sister Dawn Bell, and granddaughter Aundrea Shull Boline.
The family would like to thank all of those who kept Rodney and his family in their thoughts and prayers. He will be greatly remembered, missed, and loved by all who knew him.
Services to celebrate Rodney’s life will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 3955 Lourdes Dr., Decatur. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in Cerro Gordo Cemetery. Immediately following the burial all are welcome to attend a reception back at the church.
