Roger Phillip Propst's Obituary
Roger Phillip Propst, 77, of Decatur, passed away September 4, 2018 at St. Mary’s Hospital.
Roger was born December 20, 1940 in Decatur, IL, the son of, Carl and Mildred (Whitted) Propst. He married Mary Carroll on July 17, 1960 in Decatur, IL.
Roger worked as a diesel mechanic for many years. He enjoyed restoring classic automobiles and was an avid Dodge man. Roger enjoyed participating in marathons and loved running. He was an outdoorsman and an avid Cubs fan and loved watching westerns, especially ones with Roy Rogers. He took pride in making people laugh and always had a joke on hand. He was a wonderful husband, dad, brother and Papa.
Surviving are his wife, Mary; son, Phil Propst of Decatur, IL; daughter, Kelly Hadley (Mark) of Braidwood, IL; sisters, Jean Larrick of Springfield, MO, Roxy Rowe of Bloomington, IL, Barbara Rawlings (Randy) of Alamo, TX; grandchildren, Paul Propst of Burleson, TX, Toby Propst of Decatur, IL, Tyler Propst of Maroa, IL, Casey Meister (Todd) of Ashkum, IL; great grandchildren, Lily Propst, Emma Propst, Hadley Meister, Harper Meister and Hudson Meister.
Graveside Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Saturday, September 8, 2018 at Masonic Cemetery in Moweaqua, IL. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, September 7, 2018 at Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home.
