Decatur- Romana Scott, 95, of Decatur passed away Monday, February 07, 2011 at Decatur Memorial Hospital with her loving family at her bedside.
A service to celebrate the life of Romana will take place 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 11 2011 in the chapel at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home with a visitation starting at 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery, Decatur, Illinois. Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home is assisting the family with these arrangements. Romana was born February 28, 1915 in Escobares, Texas, the daughter of Estevan and Librada (Vasquez) Soza. She will be remembered for being a caring and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother; as well we will long remember her kindness, loyalty and service to Jehovah God. She was an active member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, West Congregation in Decatur, Illinois. She was dedicated and baptized on January 22, 1955 as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, and served faithfully until her death, along side her many friends in the congregation. She married Robert W. Scott Sr. on May 20, 1936 that resulted in a family of five healthy boys, Robert Jr., Joseph Albert, George, Rudy, and Gilbert.
She is survived by to cherish her memory, sons, George C. Scott of Decatur, Rudy Scott of Bradenton, Florida, and Gilbert Scott of Norman, Oklahoma, nephew; Edward Scott of Decatur, and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Romana was preceded in death by her parents, husband; Robert Sr., sons; Robert and Joe.
