Ronald Chris Collins' Obituary
Decatur-Ronald Christopher “Chris” Collins, 38, of Decatur, passed away at 11:50 am Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at St. Mary’s Hospital with his family by his side.
Graveside services to celebrate Ron’s life will be held at noon on Saturday, June 13, 2009 in the veterans section of Graceland Cemetery, conducted by Pastor Ron Howerton. The Macon County Honor Guard will conduct full Military Honors.
Visitation will be held from 10 am to service time at the Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to children’s education fund in care of the funeral home. Online condolences and memories may be shared with the family at www.gracelandfairlawn.com.
Chris was born April 12, 1971 in Decatur, the son of Ronald L. and Sandy L. (Beard) Collins. Chris graduated from Argenta Oreana High School and Richland Community College. He proudly served his country in the Marines being activated during Desert Storm. He was a supervisor at Tate & Lyle for 15 years. Chris married Tammi D. Mayberry on October 15, 1994 in Argenta. He enjoyed the outdoors- fishing, hunting, mushrooming and all sports. He enjoyed watching his children; they were his heart and soul.
Chris was a devoted Semper Fi, always faithful husband, father son and brother. He is survived by his wife: Tammi, son: Travis at home, daughter: Kearstyn at home, parents: Ron and Sandy Collins of Argenta, sister: Alisa Collins of Decatur and his beloved pet Shi-Tzu’s.
