Ronald Garner's Obituary
Ronald Wade Garner, of Decatur, Illinois, passed away on Monday April 24, 2017 at the young age of 51. He was born on March 28, 1966 in Greensboro, North Carolina. On July 9, 2000, he married Marcia in Decatur, Illinois. Ronnie worked as a welder/fabricator and he loved what he did. He was very handy and could fix and build anything. He loved fishing and sports. He loved Duke basketball and Cubs baseball. Ronnie was a wonderful human being with a heart unmatched by any other. He lived to help others and had the ability to genuinely make everyone feel welcome and loved. He never met a stranger. Family was always the most important thing in Ronnie’s life.He was a born leader and an inspiration to anyone who knew him. Ronnie is survived by his wife Marcia, his mother, Marjorie Huggins with stepfather Roger and his father, Jesse Garner with stepmother Peggy, brothers Keith, Johnny and Donnie, sister Kim, by his sons Dustin with fiance Haley, and Landin, daughter Kaitlin, stepdaughters Stephanie with fiance Chris, and Jenny with fiance Sam, stepson Bo with wife Chelsea. He is also survived by many nieces,nephews and cousins whom he loved dearly. Ronnie was a proud “Papa”, filled with pride, to Mekayla, Draven, Taygan, Kayson, Delaney and Lydia. They all brought him indescribable joy. Let us not forget his best friends and loyal companions Dixie and Stash, the family pets.
Ronnie will return home with a service to celebrate on May 6, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Philadelphia Baptist Chapel 5515 North Church Street in Greensboro, NC. 27455.
