I am so saddened to hear this about Ron (Harvey) Gillen we Played On the same team . Ron was a Pitcher .Ron was a great and Nicest guy I have met.Ron was our Best Man in our Wedding in August 1992 . I was thinking about him and then Debs Birthday pops up on my Facebook Page and I seen that she Passed also. .I am so sorry I didn’t know of Ron’s passing or we would of definitely been there Prayers to the Family.
I’m so sorry for your loss. Dan, while I did’nt know your father well while working at Ameren, I do remember riding along with Ron in the field during some of my electric training. He was so kind to me and I know many other co-workers at Ameren thought the world of him.

Good Guy, That’s why he was Best Man for my wedding on April 18, 1958. Well known for his basketball ability even tho he wasn’t tall. Worked with him during the early 1950’s at Kempers Park Inn (now home of Krekels on Prairie Avenue and Route 36 in Decatur. May he Rest In Peace.
