Ronald Duaine Habeck Sr.'s Obituary
Ronald Duaine Habeck Sr., 78, of Decatur, passed away December 11, 2021 at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Ronald was born in Tacoma, Washington on November 30, 1943, the son of Horace and Elaine (Malakowski) Habeck. After high school he served honorably in the US Army for three years. He then worked for many years at Firestone. During his free time, he enjoyed bowling, fishing, and playing guitar and keyboard. Ronald married Betty Jean Clardy on November 29, 1963 in Lincoln, Nebraska. Together they volunteered in several ministries, including providing food and clothing to those in need. Their special focus was in ministry to children and teens. During the last years of Betty’s life, Ronald’s devotion was evident in the loving attention he gave as her full-time caregiver.
Ronald is survived by his children Ronald (Jaynanne) Calaway-Habeck, Rhonda Sue Deleuran, and Casandra “Sandy” (Bill) Torres; brother Gary (Evelyn) Habeck; grandchildren Tye S. (Lindsay) Deleuran, Rebekah J. Calaway-Habeck, and Jaryn C. Calaway-Habeck; and great-grandchildren Ashlynn Deleuran and Decker Deleuran. Ronald was preceded in death by his wife, parents, stepfather Bud Burnette, and brother Orville Habeck.
Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home is providing cremation services for Ronald. A memorial service will be planned at a later date. Memorials may be directed to Masterpiece Arts Sanctuary NFP in Godfrey, Illinois.
