Ronald H. Hodges' Obituary
Decatur – Ronald H. Hodges, 80, of Decatur, passed away Thursday, January 12, 2017, in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Ronald was born February 26, 1936, in Moweaqua, the son of Homer and Eulalia (Fuller) Hodges.
An Army veteran of the Korean War, Ronald worked as a laborer for A.E. Staley Manufacturing until he retired. He married Shirley Ferris May 9, 1959 and she preceded him in death January 17, 2004. Also preceding him in death were his parents, twin brother Donald and brother Ray; granddaughters: Sara Dawn and Samantha Jo.
Surviving are his children: Ronald Scott (Kathryn) Hodges of Stonington and Sheri (Michael) Gentry of Decatur; grandchildren: Rusty Hodges and Nicole Jolly; great-grandchildren: Heather Jolly, Skylar Hodges, Dylan Hodges, Jazmine Hodges and Sylas Hodges; two step-grandchildren and three step-great grandchildren; sister, Ruth Scrimpsher; brothers: Gary Hodges, Randy Williams and Roger Williams; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Services to celebrate his life will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, January 18, 2017, in Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm, Tuesday, January 17, 2017 in the funeral home. Burial with military rites will take place in Old Stonington Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to American Lung Association.
