Ronald D. Jones' Obituary
Decatur- Ronald D. Jones, 75, of Decatur passed away on Friday October 7, 2011 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Ron was born on January 18, 1936 in Downs, IL the son of Charles and Ira (Glover) Jacobs. He was a retired electrical dispatcher for Illinois Power, a Veteran of the US Marine Corps, and a member of the Decatur Macon County Genealogical Society. He was a former member of the VFW and a volunteer at DMH. He married Laura Woltz in Decatur on February 4, 1956.
Surviving are his wife Laura; sons, Dave Jones (Sharon) of Pawnee; Jeffrey Jones (Karen) of Lindenhurst; Dan Jones of Decatur; daughter, Lori Ann Harmon (Mike) of Overland Park, KS; brother, Lloyd Jones (Agnes) of Goose Creek, SC; sister, Fayrene Ney of Milwaukee, WI; grandchildren, Bryce Jones, Matt Jones, Andrew Jones, Jessica Cole (Nathaniel), Katie Harmon, Jon Harmon, and Matt Harmon; great-grandchildren, Jeremiah Cole and Harper Kate Cole; and his dog, Buster.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, one sister, and one Grandson, Blake Jones.
Memorial service will be 11 am Monday, October 17, 2011 in Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home with entombment to follow with Military rites conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard and conclude with 'the Flight Home' ceremony. Memorials are suggested to the Macon County Animal Control Center.
