Ronald Lyman Leach's Obituary
Ronald Lyman Leach, 84, of Decatur, Illinois, passed away December 25, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones in his home.
Ron was born in Decatur on December 12, 1941, the son of George and Mary Sue (Connley) Leach. He married Laura Krebsbach on December 9, 1966, in Minot, ND. Ron served proudly and honorably in the Air Force and later in the Navy Reserve. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Cal State and went on to work as comptroller of Superior Welding. He later became co-owner of Architectural Iron Works. Ron was generous with his time, volunteering with the Macon County Mental Health Board, Junior Achievement, and the Decatur Sports Foundation. He belonged to the Masons and Ansar Shrine. In his spare time, he was an avid reader and had a great interest in genealogy. Most of all, he loved his family, and he especially cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed for his kind and generous spirit.
Ron is survived by his wife Laura; children Michelle Williams, Theresa (Matthew) Johnson, and Ronald Leach II; brother Tom Creighton; 10 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 7 nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents.
