Ronald L. Ross' Obituary
Warrensburg-Ronald L. Ross, 65, of Warrensburg, passed away at 8:20 p.m. Sunday, October 21, 2012 in his home with his family by his side.
Mass of Christian Burial to Celebrate Ronald's life will be 5:00 p.m. Thursday, October 25, 2012 in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 3850 Lourdes Dr., with Father Rick Weltin, celebrant. The family will receive friends immediately following the Mass. Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children's Hospital or Warrensburg Fire Department.
Ronald was born February 1, 1947, in Champaign, the son of Donald Hugh and June (Baker) Ross. He attended the University of Illinois. He was previously employed as an electrical tech with PPG in Mt. Zion retiring after thirty years of service. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. He was a fifteen year veteran of the Warrensburg Fire Department achieving the rank of Captain and later a Trustee and Assistant Scout Master for Boy Scout Troop 117. Ron was a devoted husband, father, and brother. He was very active with his children's many sports and scouting activities. He never missed a ball game or concert. He married Peggy Jo Majors November 1, 1974, in Decatur.
He leaves behind his wife Peggy, son Scott Alan Ross of Peoria, daughter Christie Lynn (Ross) Gibrich and husband Christopher Lee of Grand Prairie, Texas, brother David Andrew Ross and wife Susan of Olathe, Kansas, mother-in-law Anna M. Majors of Effingham, brothers-in-law Andrew Dauer and Curt S. Majors both of Orlando, Florida and Michael R. Majors of Beecher City, Illinois, and many loving nieces and nephews.
He was reunited in Heaven with his parents, brother Ricky Lou Ross, father-in-law Robert V. Majors, and sister-in-law Nancy D. Majors.
The family wishes to express their thanks and gratitude to the many people who took this last journey with Ron and his family, Dr. Daniel Smith, Dr. Benjamin Esparaz, and the Angels of St. John's Hospice and St. Mary's Hospital.
