Ronald K. Swofford's Obituary
Ronald K. Swofford, 70, of Decatur passed away on Thursday, August 4, 2016 in Shelbyville Manor.
Ron was born on September 14, 1945 in Vandalia, IL the son of Otho and Freida (Talbott) Swofford. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was retired from Brentwood Shopping Center.
Ron enjoyed going hunting and fishing. He married Sandy Warren on April 7, 1972 in Decatur. She preceded him in death on July 13, 2010.
Surviving are his daughter, Shawna Hubner (Dennis) of Tower Hill; sisters, Becky Strauch (Jerry) of St. Elmo; Kay Graves (Joe) of Vandalia; Judy Sharp (Alan) of Shobonier; grandchildren, Ariel, Lauren, Tyler, Kaylee, Zach, and Wade.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brother Larry, and sister Doris.
A memorial service to celebrate Ron’s life will be 2 PM Thursday, August 11, 2016 in Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home with military rites conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard. Burial will, be in Mt. Zion Township Cemetery at a later date. Memorials are suggested to the family.
