Ronny Stutes' Obituary
Decatur – Ronny Stutes, 71, of Decatur, passed away at 4:34 pm Monday, March 2, 2009 surrounded by his loving family.
Visitation to celebrate Ronny’s life will be held at 4-6 pm Thursday, March 5, 2009 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be sent to Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Online condolences and memories may be shared with the family at www.gracelandfairlawn.com.
Ronny was born on June 30, 1937 in Chicago, the son of Willis and Therese (Janvrin) Stutes. He married Eula Snow on February 8, 1957 in Decatur. They were married for 25 years. Ronny graduated from Lakeview High School and was a stand out basketball player. He continues to hold school records. Ronny was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to fish hunt, and restored vintage cars in his spare time.
He will be sadly missed by his four daughters: Debbie (Mike) Dunn of Decatur, Sherry (Gary) Meyer of Beardstown, Terri (Joe) Fletcher of Mt. Zion, and Liz (Gary) Hull of Germantown Hills, two sisters: Dixie Johnson of Decatur, and Jane Williams of Decatur, ten grandchildren: Sara, Andrew, Kelly, Melissa, Matthew, Michelle, Justin, Eric, Brittany, and Mark, two great-grandchildren: Alexandria and Luke.
He was reunited in heaven with his parents, one brother: George “Sonny” Chaney, and one sister: Joan Crownover.
