Rosella Ann Burdick's Obituary
Decatur-Rosella Ann 'Rosie' Burdick, 84, of Decatur, passed away Friday, May 04, 2012 at her home with her family by her side.
Memorial services to celebrate Rosie's life will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 1 Bachrach Court Decatur, with Pastor Wray Offermann officiating. Private family interment will be in Fairlawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to DMH Home Health Care.
Rosie was born September 10, 1927 in Decatur. She was raised by her grandmother Mary Fleming. She was employed with Illinois Bell and later in life was the book department manager for Haines & Essick. She was a member of 1st Lutheran Church, DMH and St. Mary's Auxiliary, and the Walking Wounded Lunch Club. She was an avid bowler with the Burdick Team. She enjoyed golf and reading. She married Richard D. Burdick in 1946. He preceded her in death April 22, 1989.
She leaves behind her son Richard L. Burdick and wife Judy of Decatur, daughter Cheri Moore-Brooks and husband Jimmy of Huntsville, Alabama, granddaughters Michelle Moore of Indian Harbor Beach, Florida and Laurie Moore of Huntsville, Alabama.
She was reunited in Heaven with her grandma, husband, and sister Mary Margaret Brubaker.
