Rowena Woodard's Obituary
Decatur-W. Rowena Woodard, 91, of Decatur, passed away at 11:20 p.m. Saturday, November 27, 2010 at St. Mary's Hospital with her family by her side.
Services to celebrate Rowena's life will be 1 p.m. Thursday, December 2, 2010 at St. John's Episcopal Church 130 W. Eldorado. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the services at the church. Interment with 'Flight Home' Ceremony will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Episcopal Church, St. Mary's Hospital Auxiliary, Catholic Charities, or National Parkinson's Foundation. Rowena was born May 20, 1919 in Concord, Illinois the daughter of Glenn and Flora (Filson) Caldwell. She was previously employed as the office manager of the Decatur St. Mary's Credit Union from 1962-1984 then stayed on part-time until her retirement. She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church where she was active in the St. Francis and Altar Guild. She was also a longtime volunteer with the St. Mary's Auxiliary. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren play sports. She married George Dungey in 1941. He preceded her in death in 1946. She then married Jack Woodard in 1947. He preceded her in death in 1986.
She leaves behind her son; Dan Woodard and wife Maureen of Harristown, daughters; Susan Brown and husband Michael of Cincinnati, Ohio, Mary Mills of Decatur, and Becky Snow and husband Rick of Williamsville, sisters; Mary Schoof of East Peoria and Dorothy Clark of Tonica, eleven grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
She was reunited in Heaven with her parents; husbands; George and Jack, brothers; John and Robert Caldwell, and sister; Alma Clark.
