Earnest Russell Blair “Russ”, 90, of Decatur, passed away on September 1st, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings, and son-in-law. Russ was born in Neoga, IL, in 1932. He was a member of the United States Navy, where he served from 1952 to 1954. After receiving an honorable discharge from the Navy, Russ began a career at Caterpillar where we worked for 33 1/2 years. After his much deserved retirement, Russ enjoyed spending his free time with his family. More than anything else, he loved watching his grandchildren in their school sports and activities. He was also an avid golfer, and rooted hard for his favorite sports teams: the University of Illinois, Chicago Bears, and the Chicago Cubs. Russ was a Christian man and took comfort knowing he would be resting in peace with his Lord and Savior.
