Russell S. Price's Obituary
Russell Stuart Price, 89, died May 18, 2018 at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Russell was born on November 22, 1928 in Decatur, the son of Ross D. and Opal (St. John) Price.
He married Yyonna Kruger, October 6, 1957 in Stewardson, Illinois.
Russell was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean War.
He retired from Illinois Bell Telephone Company after 35 years.
A graduate of Decatur High School, he loved aviation. At 16 he earned his pilots license, gave flight instruction, crop dusted and flew gliders for Decatur Aviation and he served with the Decatur Civil Air Patrol.
He still participated and was a member of the Aero Commanders RC Club which fly model remote control aircraft here in Decatur.
Surviving are his wife, Yyonna; and two children, Jeff Stuart and Susan Kay of Decatur, Illinois, plus several cousins.
He was proceeded in death by both parents and step parents.
Funeral services are 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 25 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home with visitation one hour before service.
Burial will be at Stewardson Cemetery in Stewardson, Illinois following services.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church, Decatur; Macon County Animal Control or American Heart Association.
