Ruth Ellen Durham's Obituary
Ruth Ellen Heidlebaugh Durham has passed from this life on September 5, 2018. Born August 13, 1942 in Decatur to Leota Dell Farrell Peters and Ervin Lynn Heidlebaugh, she has led a full and interesting life.
Among her various passions were playing music, gazing at the stars, solving various types of puzzles, rescuing and raising animals, and serving as a missionary to bring the word of God to the downtrodden. Prior to her Missionary work, Ruth worked professionally with the severely mentally disabled through the Illinois State Department of Mental Health for more than 20 years.
She was preceded in death+ by both her parents; her eldest daughter, Deanna Jane Kiliman; and one great grandchild, Anthony Micheal Wheelock. She is survived by her elder sister, Betty Louise Stewart; her younger brothers, James Ervin Heidlebaugh and Charles Leroy Heidlebaugh; along with their wives, Lutti Heidlebaugh and Louise Heidlebaugh; her daughter, Christine Marie Durham; her son, Kenneth Bruce Thazhampallathu Durham; a grandson, Michael Gabriel Wheelock; two granddaughters, Nahani Lynn Meuse and Merickia Kathleen Wheelock; four great grandchildren, Jason Lee Meuse Jr, Ariela Marie Hussemann, Jazmyn Elizabeth Hussemann. and Alexander Michael Wheelock; along with several nieces and nephews and their respective families.
Due to the wishes of Ms. Durham and her family, there will be no funeral service or visitation. Ruth is to be cremated and interred at Graceland Fairlawn Cemetary in Decatur, Il.
Ruth will be missed by all of her family and all of her friends.
