Ruth Gwendolyn Lipka's Obituary
Decatur – Ruth G. Lipka, 90, of Decatur, passed away at 1:50 am Sunday, March 28, 2010 at St. Mary’s Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Services to celebrate Ruth’s life will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home with Pastor John Laux officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services. Interment with the “Flight Home” Ceremony will be at Graceland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be sent to Trinity Lutheran Church. A lifelong Decatur resident, Ruth Muzzy married Ernest Lipka on July 15, 1950 in Decatur. Ruth served her country during WWII in the WAC’s. She was an employee of the Decatur School District # 61 working in food preparation for many years. Ruth was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. More than anything, she was an example to all of hardwork, dedication, loving, caring and giving of one’s self to others.
Ruth leaves behind three generations of nieces and nephews and life-long friends who will hold her in their hearts forever.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ernest, parents Ralph and Fern Muzzy, sister Evelyn Trimby and brother Donald Muzzy.
