Samuel Colten Lee Ward's Obituary
Decatur – Samuel Colten Lee Ward, 29, of Decatur, passed away Friday, November 14, 2025.
Samuel was born on May 12, 1996, in Champaign, IL the son of David Lee and Angela D. (Hiser) Ward. A U.S. Army National Guard veteran, Samuel graduated with an associate’s degree in culinary arts and was currently working as an apprentice with I.B.E.W. local 146. He loved riding motorcycles, fishing, cooking, and spending time with his family and friends. Samuel married Renee Nicole McCool on April 11, 2025, in Allerton Park in Monticello, IL.
Samuel is survived by his wife Renee and their son Sterling Oliver “Ollie” Ward of Decatur; mother Angela Ward of Oreana; sisters: Ashley (Houston) Giles of Decatur and Jossie (Jack) Galloway of Chicago; and niece Abilene Giles of Decatur.
Samuel was preceded in death by his father David Ward.
Date, time and place of the celebration of life will be announced in a few days.
