Sandra L. Backstein's Obituary
Sandra L. Backstein, 86, of Decatur, Illinois, passed away October 29, 2023, at the Loft of Rock Springs Rehab Center in Decatur.
Sandra was born in Decatur on January 28, 1937, the daughter of William Roscoe Knott Sr. and Mabel (Lindsay) Knott. She was a graduate of Stephen Decatur High School. She worked as a salesclerk for Haines & Essick downtown and in Brettwood Village. She was a member of Life Foursquare Church. She enjoyed playing Bingo, fishing, and shopping at rummage sales. She married Richard Backstein in Decatur on December 30, 1987.
Sandra is survived by her daughter Connie Jones of Decatur and her niece Pamela. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, son David Kubow, brother William Knott, and sister June Voight.
Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home is providing cremation services for Sandra, followed by burial in Graceland Cemetery.
