Sandra was born April 26, 1942 in Peoria, Illinois, the daughter of Benjamin and Clara (Cones) Rigg, having never known her father who died in WWII. She was raised by her mother and step-father, Jack Murray in Decatur.
She graduated from Lakeview High School in 1960, she married Ronald T. Flesch on January 7, 1961 and to this union four were born.
She was a homemaker for many years along with helping her husband run the family business (Precision Auto Body) later on she was the manager at the Main Hanger Restaurant and most recent a lab tech at Wallace Lab. She loved tending to her outdoor plants and gardens. She remodeled several houses but more than anything she loved cooking and taking care of her family. Sandra loved her two cats Roxie and Boobie.
She is survived by her husband Ronny of fifty years, daughter Dawn Austin and husband Max, sons Greg, Mike and wife Jennifer, and Scott and wife Jenni, brother Ben (Sonny) and wife Sharon, granddaughters Lindsay, Brittany, Aryn, Sam, Alex, and Brooke, grandsons Avante, and Naithan, great-grandsons Keller, and Aiden, and life long friends Jim and Linda Puckett.
Sandra was preceded in death by her parents and her step-father.
The family would like to thank Dr. Mutch and his staff at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, and Special friend Staci Gilchrist, and a very special thank you to her home nurse Shirley Lohmar and Dr. Daniel Smith for their care and compassion but especially the love they showed her these last months.
We are going to miss her infectious smile, her love for life, and her home cooked meals. But most of all we are going to miss her.
Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences and memories may be shared with the family at www.gracelandfairlawn.com.
