Sandra Hughlett's Obituary
Sandra Ann Hughlett, 51, of Decatur passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2015 in her home.
Sandra was born on July 3, 1963 in Hughes, AR to the proud parents of Bubba Williams and Maude Ella Hughlett.
Sandra accepted Christ at an early age though baptism at Apostolic Church of Christ in Chicago, IL. She continued her spiritual growth at the Community Church of God in Decatur, IL. She attended her last service on Easter Sunday with all 13 of her grandchildren.
Sandra received her education through the public system until the age of twelve. It was at that time that she was accepted at Central Y Private School after 2 years Sandra returned to the public school system to attend Gage Park High to finish her education.
Sandra was a fun loving, strong, out spoken, vibrant, joking, and all around great person. She also was generous and would give last to help someone out. Sandra has made a difference in many people’s lives including her own. Although she had many setbacks in her life, she used her experience as a support system for her children and grandchildren. She was a blessing to the lives she touched. Sandra was loved by many just as she loved many. The love she spread shall never parish.
Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, Bubba Williams and Maude Ella Hughlett, grandparents, Ephron and Emma Roberts, her brother Ollie, her sister Janice Hughlett, and two loving nephews Antoine Hughlett and Cory Jr.
Sandra leaves to uplift her memory: a partner Lee Singleton, a special friend the father of her children Howard Robinson; five daughters, Cassandra (Alfred) Elexis (Tyree) Ella (Sydney), Dominique Sallis (Walter) and Kaparae Robinson; her only son, Howard Robinson of Decatur, IL; 13 grandchildren whom she gave a nickname, Brianna “Granny” Tyannaya “Girl” Alijah “Juicy” Allen “Greedy” Walter “Monkey”, Howard “Byrd” Kia’mari “Pig” and her fatherTyrus, Davion “Blackey”, Emahni “China” Gloria “Sista” Alfred “Jaws”, Corvell “Lilman” , and Sy’Ryan “Thirteen”’; two brothers, Walter Goss(Tanya) and Byron Hughlett from Chicago, IL two sisters, Marilyn Hughlett and Diane Hughlett from Chicago, IL; an adopted sister, Sandra Roberts of North Minnesota; six nephews, Tibby, Anthony, Lamont, Walter, Darius, and Billy; seven nieces, Elaine, Erica, Monique, Evette, Tiffany, Tinesha, and Alice; one uncle, four aunts, her extended family the Robinsons, a special friend, Sarita Sangster of Decatur; and a host of other family and friend.
Homegoing service to celebrate Sandra’s life will be 11 AM Saturday April 18, 2015 in Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be 10 -11 AM Saturday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery.
