Sandra L. Malone's Obituary
Sandra “Sammie” Malone, 77, of Sullivan, IL passed away on June 7, 2018 at the Decatur Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center.
Sandra was born in Decatur, IL on January 12, 1941, the daughter of Neil F. and Anna L. (MacAfee) Rich. She married Richard Malone on July 1, 1978. Survivors include children William Bush (Carol) of Farmington, New Mexico and Debra (Dennis) Hobson of Boerne, Texas. Grandchildren, Heather Peters, Stephanie (Tony) Helmuth, Erica Peters (Tyler), Terry (Allie) Peters, Ciara Waggoner, and Brandon Peters; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and both of her parents.
Sammie was an LPN for many years working in the local community. She also spent several of her years crafting with her husband Richard. She was the proud owner of Samolly’s Crafts for many years on the Sullivan square. She loved quilting, crafting and playing cards with her friends. She was a member of the Rebekah home and the Sullivan American Legion Auxiliary Post #68. She was very much a people person and loved being involved in her community, including driving her beloved corvette in the local parades.
Gtraveside funeral services for Sammie and burial with her husband Richard’s ashes will be held at 2:00 pm Friday June 22, 2018 at the Graceland Cemetery. The family welcomes you to join them at the graveside or for a Celebration of Life at the Jonathan Creek Christian Church located at 1425 Jonathan Creek Rd, Sullivan, IL from 4:30 to 6:30.
Memorial flowers can be sent to Jonathan Creek Christian Church for the Celebration of Life Services. Memorial gifts in her honor are suggested to the family or the Moultrie County Animal Control Center.
